The island of Gorée or Gorée is once the island of the Atlantic Ocean located in the bay of Dakar (Senegal) and one of the 19 communes of the district of the capital. It is a symbol of the memory of the slave trade in Africa, UN in 1978: Gorée, “island-memory” of this tragedy UNESCO World Heritage Foundation for the World Heritage Foundation.
