Day 1 : Arrival at Ziguinchor Reception at the port of Ziguinchor … After the first contact with our agent, we put your luggage and crew in the car and will visit Ziguinchor, capital of Casamance, before starting our adventure inside this green region.
After lunch at the Alliance Franco Senegalese or at the Hotel Perroquet, continue to Niambalang where we take a canoe that brings us to Eloubaline Island (Diola village in lower Casamance). During the trip, we will cross mangrove labyrinths in which we can see pelicans, cormorants, flamingos and other water birds.
The Diolas are considered the best architects in all of Africa, mainly for the construction of their impluvium huts, palm trunks, bamboo canes and mud walls. Arrival visit of Eloubaline village and continuation to Oussouye where our car awaits us which will bring us back to Cap Skirring.
Dinner and overnight camp No Stress Day 2:Cap Skirring – Island de Karabane – Cap Skirring. (H.B) After breakfast, Departure for Katakalousse by pirogue, visit of the island of birds, before arriving at the island of Karabane. We will visit this famous island on foot where we can see the ruins of the city that was that of the colonial era. After lunch, we will take the canoe back to Elinkine where our vehicle is waiting for us to go to Cap Skirring. Along the way, we will stop at M’lompe to visit its Diola museum and admire its great Silk tree. Dinner and overnight Camp No Stress Day 3:Cap Skirring – Diembering – Cap Skirring (H.B)
After breakfast, departure for Diembering, one of the largest villages in Casamance. We will visit its Diola neighborhoods surrounded by cheese makers and fetishes. If it falls on a Sunday, we will go to church to attend Diola Mass, a ceremony accompanied by songs and drums. After returning to Cap Skirring for lunch. In the afternoon, visit Kabrousse to see what a fetish up close is.
