Day 1: Hotel transfer in Dakar
Arrival at L.S.Senghor airport, welcome, assistance and transfer to the hotel in the city center.
Day 2: Dakar – Gorée – Dakar
After breakfast, visit the city of Dakar, Independence Square, Soweto Square, the Cathedral, the Grand Mosque, the Decasa Gallery with its sand paintings etc.
12:30 pm Transfer by boat to the island of Gorée. Lunch on the island, visit to the House of Slaves, the Church, the Castel and the island market.
4.30 p.m. Return to Dakar, visit of the African Renaissance Monument and the artisanal village of Soumbédioune. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Dakar – Pink Lake – Dakar
After breakfast, departure for Pink Lake Retba. Tour of the Lake in a 4×4 on the tracks of the Paris-Dakar rally. Stop at the salt collector’s area, the Peulh village, the beautiful beach before having lunch at Salim Lodge. Return to Dakar, dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Joal – Ndangane
After breakfast, departure for Joal Fadiouth, a town of Sérère ethnic group which was the birthplace of the late President poet L. S. Senghor, a man of great renown in Senegal and Africa. Visit of the Fadiouth shell cemetery where Christians and Muslims are buried, a very remarkable message that says a lot about the good cohabitation between religious communities in Senegal. Lunch at the Finio de Joal restaurant. After lunch, stop and visit the fishing port of Joal, continue to the village of Ndangane. Dinner and overnight at the Pelican hotel in Ndangane.
Day 5: Ndangane
After breakfast, excursion by canoe through the bolongs of the Saloum river with its vast panorama of mangroves, its islands and its varieties of aquatic birds Egrets, Cormorants, Herons, Pelicans etc. Return to the mainland of Ndangane, Lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, a wrestling session will be organized in this part of Senegal which has seen the birth of great champions of this traditional sport, MANGA 2 and YEKINI, two names who have marked this traditional sport in Senegal. After the session, return to the Pelican hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Toubacouta
After breakfast, departure for the village of Toubacouta, a border village with nearby Gambia. Visit of villages of different ethnic groups, Sérères, Peuls, and Mandingos. Lunch and installation at the Keur Saloum lodge.
At the end of the afternoon, boat trip to the bird resting place. Return to Keur Saloum lodge, dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Saly Seaside Resort
After breakfast, departure for the seaside resort of Saly. Arrival and installation at the Bougainvilliers hotel in Saly. Lunch at the Bistro restaurant. Relaxed afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 8: Saint-Louis
After breakfast, departure for Saint-Louis, the capital of northern Senegal. On the way, visit villages, stop at the forest of Baobabs ‘Trees symbols of the Country’ before arriving at the old French town which is Saint Louis of Senegal, center of beauty of elegance and good taste Senegalese, first city founded in 1659, the country’s first capital, former capital of French West Africa. Lunch in town, dinner and overnight at the Siki Hotel.
Day 9: Saint-Louis – Djoudj Park – Saint Louis
After breakfast departure for the visit of the Ornithological Park of Djoudj or the Langue de Barbarie. Return to the island of Saint Louis, lunch in a typical restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the city in a horse-drawn carriage, like the walks of the Signares Half cast ’who regained their freedom in times of slavery and colonies. Dinner and overnight at the Siki hotel.
Day 10: Departure for return flight
After breakfast return to the airport. The departure time from Saint Louis will be set the day before, depending on the return flight.
